The Vita Nova, originally named the Tijdgeest was built and launched in 1913. It plied for trade in and around Holland carrying various types of cargos in the winter and pleasure passengers in the summer.
The first passengers were members of the Christian church and had to sleep in hammocks slung between the decks. The present owners took over the boat in1996 and after a major refit it has plied for the pleasure routes ever since. In the summer between 1st April and 30th September she can be found cruising the waterways of Holland after 30th September and before 1st April she is moored in Amsterdam close to the central railway station and is used as a floating hotel.
From 1st April if you bring your own laptop computer we will provide a FREE internet connection.
From Amsterdam station it will take roughly about 7 minutes walking, turn left when you come out of the station and head towards the nemo museum and we are a few yards from there.
